A few weeks ago, Princess came home from
school early with a headache. She was also feeling dizzy.
That evening her ear started throbbing and some liquid came out of it.
It still hurt the next morning so I kept her home from school and took
her to the walk-in clinic. They said there was no infection and didn't
see anything wrong with her.
I told her I believed her. I knew she didn't feel good. I saw the gunk come out of her ear. I could tell her head hurt. She doesn't lie about being sick to get out of school. She has a giant meltdown if school is too much for her, but doesn't fake being sick.
She was so relieved that I believed her. Stuff like that still surprises her sometimes.
We believe her. We value her. We love her. We take care of her. We keep her safe. She's important to us.
Things kids should just *know* but so many don't. She's learning, but I still see the relief in her eyes when she feels it sometimes.
I've been reading your entries for quite a few months now. I just wanted to tell you, you are such a kind, understanding, amazing mom. Princess is very blessed. A lot of kids don't get to find a mom, or family. I love reading what you write, even though it is a bit difficult for me. I am happy that some kids are so fortunate to find a family, and that people like you really do exist. Princess will have a wonderful life because she has a loving family. Have a nice night. ~ Annabelle
